caroline mars asian elements

Born and educated in the Netherlands, Caroline Mars has studied and worked in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore for almost 15 years.

Art Education:
Certificate Advanced Chinese Painting (Hong Kong)
Teachers Certificate Sogetsu School Tokyo (ikebana)
Graduated Art Academy Leiden, the Netherlands (painting)

Drawing on the five elements central to Asian philosophy - wood, fire, earth, metal and water - she attempts to temper the clutter and stress of modern life with minimalist composition and simple forms, incorporating her Asian studies of Chinese painting and Ikebana into her innovative body of work.

In 2015 she moved to Seoul.
